Our Psychologists play a crucial role in supporting the wellbeing of children and young people in care. Using your clinical expertise, you’ll provide a specialist, professionally independent, clinical psychology service for psychological assessment, therapy, and interventions that help children heal from trauma and thrive in safe, supportive environments.

Our Psychologists work in dedicated teams, all of which are co-located in the Psychological Services business unit based at Richmond, SA.

What you'll be doing

Every day brings opportunities to make a lasting impact. You will be involved in the delivery of a broad range of direct clinical and other specialist psychological services to meet the needs of children and young people, their carers, and family members. Your work may include:

  • Conducting psychological assessments
  • Delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support recovery and resilience
  • Consultation services to field staff and residential care workers
  • Developing care plans and strategies that support behavioural, emotional, and cognitive development
  • training and psycho-education for a range of stakeholders.

What we’re looking for

To join us as a Psychologist, you’ll need:

  • A Master of Clinical, Forensic or Health Psychology degree or equivalent
  • To be a registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia as a Clinical, Forensic or Health Psychologist, or willingness to work towards clinical endorsement
  • To be registered under the Health Practitioners Regulation National Law to practice as a Psychologist
  • Obtain or hold a valid Working with Children Check issued by the Department for Human Services, to be renewed every 5 years
  • Hold a current South Australian issued driver's licence (P2 or above) and a willingness to drive is essential
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, therapy, and trauma-informed practice
  • The ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Be flexible as some out-of-house, weekend work, and some intra/interstate travel including overnight stays may be required
  • A commitment to cultural responsiveness and working respectfully with Aboriginal children, families, and communities.
