All young children in care will receive free book packs this month through Raising Literacy Australia’s Read to Me program. Delivered every three months, these age-appropriate books support early brain development, language skills, and positive adult-child interactions.
Children up to six years old receive books tailored to their age, helping them build personal libraries and a love for reading. If you care for a child under six and have not received a pack, speak with the child’s case worker.
More details, including book selections, are available on our Read to Me page. You can also explore Raising Literacy Australia’s YouTube channel for book readings and activity videos.
The program is supported by the Department for Child Protection, Variety – The Children’s Charity of South Australia, the Australian Publishing Industry, and Cochrane’s Transport.
