Foster and Kinship Carer Week runs from 8-14 September and the Department for Child Protection, in collaboration with non-government partners, is hosting events to thank and celebrate our state's dedicated foster and kinship carers.

As a carer, you play such an important role in keeping children and young people safe and giving them opportunities to thrive and succeed in life.

The week is about celebrating the exceptional contributions you make to the lives of children and young people.

Events and activities to celebrate the week vary according to location. To help with catering, we ask that all carersplanning to attend an event register on the Foster and Kinship Carer Week event page. If you need some help to register, please reach out to your Department of Child Protection caseworker or kinship worker.

These events are open to all approved foster and kinship carers in South Australia. If you are part of a two-carer household, both carers can attend an event. Carers can attend an event that best suits them regarding the location, date, and time. You do not have to attend the event that is linked to your local office.
