An online information hub is now available to help South Australians understand upcoming changes to the state’s child protection and family support system.

The website provides clear and accessible information about the Children and Young People (Safety and Support) Act 2025 (CYPSS Act), including what is changing and what it means for children, young people and families across South Australia.

Designed to be practical and easy to navigate, the site brings together key information in one place and outlines the purpose of the new legislation, with a focus on improving support for children and families.

The hub includes tailored content for a range of audiences, with dedicated information for:

  • Children and young people
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Parents and families
  • Foster and kinship carers

Visitors can also access updates on implementation progress, including what is happening now and what to expect as changes are introduced, with further information provided through regular bulletins.

Next steps and implementation

We are preparing for the commencement of the CYPSS Act, which is expected in mid-2027. Check back regularly as new resources, tools and updates are added to this hub throughout implementation.
