Following consultation earlier this year with the sector, staff, young people and carers, we are pleased to announce that the new Department for Child Protection Practice Approach will come into effect on 1 December 2019.
This will replace the current Solution Based Casework model, and is unique to South Australia’s legislative and cultural context. The approach is focused on children and young people’s physical, emotional and cultural safety during all phases of work, and incorporates a number of elements to support best practice including professional development, supervision, a trauma lens and accountability.
